Canberra Capitals forward Eleanor Sharp is confident she'll be on the court for next week's grand final despite still feeling the effects of last week's draining semi-final.

Sharp has only been back on the court for two weeks since being sidelined with glandular fever for much of the season.

She missed last night's practice match against the AIS, but said the rest would help prepare her for next weekend's decider against Sydney or Townsville.

"I knew it wouldn't do me a great deal of benefit to train this week, in fact it would have set me back quite a bit," Sharp said.

With the Capitals down by 16 points at half-time against Townsville last weekend, Sharp was more worried than most of her team-mates about the prospect of having to play this weekend.

Thankfully, Lauren Jackson, who also missed last night's session, produced one of the greatest individual performances in WNBL history to secure the home final and a rest.

"By three-quarter-time I was pretty exhausted and I didn't think I'd be able to back up this week, so I was really, really grateful to have this week off," Sharp said.

"It's a stressful, but also very exciting week which can be good to get you going if you're not feeling great," she said.
