TransACT Communications and the Canberra TransACT Capitals will continue their successful partnership with the signing of a new sponsorship deal today. The investment by TransACT is believed to be the largest for any single Australian women's sporting team competing in a national competition. TransACT Chief Executive Officer, Michael Del Gigante said, the partnership between the company and the Capitals had proven to be very successful. "The Canberra TransACT Capitals are without doubt Australia's premier women's sporting team, and we are proud to be a part of that continuing," said Mr Del Gigante. "The association with the Capitals has instilled a great sense of pride in both our company and the community as a whole," he said. Capitals Captain Lucille Bailie was delighted with the announcement and it's significance for both TransACT and the Capitals. "TransACT and the Capitals are leaders in their respective fields and are connecting the community through sporting and business initiatives. I think Canberra is justifiably proud of both teams!" One Basketball Canberra Chief Executive Ross Graham responded. "We are delighted to continue our relationship with one of Canberra's most prominent local companies. It is fantastic to have such ongoing support & commitment from local business to community programs. TransACT Communications and the Capitals have had an extremely successful time together over the last three years and the winning combination is set to be prolonged into the future providing many positive times for supporters and associates." Since the partnership between the Capitals and TransACT Communications began three years ago, both organisations have achieved unprecedented success. The Capitals were successful in winning their third Women's National Basketball League title in February this year, in a thrilling contest in front of over 5,000 sporting fans at the AIS Arena. TransACT Communications is connecting the Canberra community to its world leading telecommunications network and now offers TV, phone and high speed data services to more than half of Canberra's suburbs and most of Canberra's business districts. The sponsorship deal is worth $300,000 plus, for up to a 3 year period, and includes support of One Basketball Canberra’s junior development teams and programs. "TransACT wants to ensure our young, up-and-coming stars have a positive future to look forward to, by having the best sporting teams and best technology available anywhere in the world," concluded Mr Del Gigante. |
