With bags packed and tickets in hand the Canberra TransACT Capitals are ready to jump on a plane and take on the world. After completing the second round of the WNBL Season against the AIS tonight, the TransACT Capital’s focus will be on the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Samara, Russia. The TransACT Capitals are one of only 8 clubs from over 200 countries across the world that have been invited to play in the inaugural tournament, an event to showcase the best women’s teams from the best national and international leagues from around the world. "This is a great honor for our girls, our club and our league to be invited to participate in such a prestigious event" says coach Carrie Graf "Not only are we representing the Canberra Basketball Community, we are representing the WNBL, Australia and the Oceania region. We take this responsibility very seriously and are looking forward to the challenge." The TransACT Capitals will be facing some of the toughest competition in the history of the club. Not only will they be playing 5 games in a week, they will be facing some of the toughest competition in the world with teams from Africa, South America, USA and Europe.
