Canberra Capitals TransACT Capitals face tough task against French Champions!

The Canberra TransACT Capitals will face their first big test tonight as they take on US Valenciennes Olympic at the FIBA World Cup for Women in Samara, Russia.

Both teams enjoyed victory yesterday but whilst the TransACT Capitals were expected to win against Mozambique, US Valenciennes Olympic caused the first upset of the tournament defeating Volgaburmash SGAU-Samara 79-60.

US Valenciennes Olympic boast an impressive line up featuring Australian Suzy Batkovic, WNBA veterans Allison Feaster and Ann Wauters and French star Audrey Sauret who also has experience in the WNBA. US Valenciennes Olympic came second at the European Championships and are reigning French Champions.

Tonight's game will give the TransACT Capitals a good indication of where they stand on the international stage and how they will fair in the later rounds of the tournament.
