The Canberra TransACT Capitals cruised to victory last Saturday night with a 104-37 defeat of the Perth Lynx. The night before against the Sydney Uni Flames, Perth lost go-to player Natalie Love to injury, so the game against the TransACT Capitals was always going to be a tough one.
Lauren Jackson led Canberra with 22 points and 15 rebounds, but it was Kristen Veal’s shooting that was the highlight of the game. She buried 5 of 6 three point shots on her way to 19 points and 7 assists.
This weekend will prove a real test of the TransACT Capitals claim for their third straight title as they head on the road to Melbourne to face Bulleen and Dandenong. Both teams had big wins last weekend, defeating the Lightning and ejecting them from the top four in the process.
